The forecast for tomorrow is not looking good. Low level winds are 14-16 knts and the float time is estimated as 11 or 12 hours. This float time corresponds to at most 1 hour of night which is less that what is required by the Colorado payload. Thus, we will NOT be showing for a launch opportunity tomorrow.
The high altitude winds are expected to remain high for the remainder of the week. However, we will be having daily weather briefings every day and will be watching this situation very closely. I will be having an informal brief at 12:30 pm (mountain time) every day and will be posting those results on this forum as soon as possible afterward.
By the way, contact on the flight line is possible via telephone (575-355-9458) or Live Messenger (
