Travel to CSBF for Integration

Post by GregGuzik » Fri Jul 10, 2009 2:37 pm

We have arranged for a block of rooms to be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Palestine, Texas with a special discount rate during HASP integration from August 2 through August 8. To take advantage of this rate you need to call either Mike or Jan at 903-723-4884 and tell them that you are with the LSU HASP group. I would advise that you make your room reservation as soon as possible.

For those of you who are new to the CSBF, where we are doing our integration, I am attaching here a PDF file that includes a couple of maps. One map that shows how to get from DFW airport to Palestine, Texas and one map of the Palestine area showing where the hotel and CSBF are actually located.

Once you arrive at CSBF you will need to check into the Visitor's Center. They will have a list of your names and will be able to issue you an appropriate badge. The badge must be worn at all time while you are on base. You group leader and/or faculty adviser will be issued a "S" badge. This will enable your group to get onto the base and into the hanger during nights and weekends. (It will also enable you to leave the base once the gates are locked.) Upon completing your integration effort you will need to check out at the CSBF Visitor Center and turn in your badge.

Prior to arriving on site you should review the HASP Payload Integration Certification document that can be found on the HASP website Technical Documentation page During integration we will proceed through the checklist, identifying any issues that you need to resolve. Once all issues are resolved we will sign off on the document and you will be able to proceed to flight. Reviewing this document will give you some idea of what to expect.

See you all in a couple of weeks.
