On Tuesday afternoon we drove up to Sulpher Spring, TX to visit Raven where the large balloons used by professional scientists are fabricated.

Tuesday morning Fred Perrin took the group on a tour of NSBF, showing how scientific balloon payloads are staged, launched and monitored from Palestine, TX and other launch sites around the world

The ACES group arrived at the National Scientific Balloon Facility (NSBF) in Palestine, Texas and began final checkout of their payloads and constructing the flight train.

Contructing the CanSat - January, 2003

During the second semester of ACES, the students started with constructing, testing, & programming a CanSat control board. 

Working with the CricketSat - November, 2002

During the Fall 2002, the ACES  group concentrated on learning he basic circuit, building techniques, sensor calibration, data collection and data analysis.
