International School of Cosmic Ray Astrophysics

16th  Course: "Gamma Ray and Cosmic Ray Astrophysics: From below GeV to beyond EeV Energies"

 5-12 July 2008
Ettore Majorana Centre
Erice, Sicily, Italy

Topic: High Energy Neutrino Astronomy
Lecturer:
Hiro Nagataki

Very high energy (VHE) neutrinos carry important information on particle accelerators such as Gamma-Ray Bursts, Active Galactic Nuclei, and Cluster of galaxies. In this lecture, I will summarize the current status of our understanding on the VHE neutrino emitters and future prospect to detect signals by the next generation VHE neutrino detectors. I would also like to talk about MeV Supernova Neutrino Background shortly that may be detected at Super-Kamiokande in the very near future.
