Tech Advisory Committee

The Louisiana "EPSCoR 2000" Project Technical Advisory Committee was established according to the following requirements as set forth in the NASA "EPSCoR 2000" request for proposals.

"Each State NASA EPSCoR program must establish a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to provide assistance, consultation, evaluation, and advice to the State NASA EPSCoR Director. The purposes of the TAC are:

  1. to advise on State research and economic priorities;
  2. to assist in planning research areas that align with State priorities;
  3. to provide technical guidance to the State NASA EPSCoR program; and
  4. to review program progress and accomplishments.
The TAC, which is chaired by the State NASA EPSCoR Director, must consist of at least eight members. Required on the committee are:
  • the State NASA EPSCoR Program Director (Committee Chair)
  • at least one member of the State EPSCoR Committee (Except for Connecticut)
  • at least one representative from State industry;
  • at least one representative from State Government; and
  • one member each from at least three affiliates of the State NASA Space Grant Program."
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) complies witht the membership structure specified for the TAC in a manner that ensures the technical expertise of the members is also relevant to the research topics and to technology transfer and economic development within the State. The members of the TAC are as follows.

The TAC and project leaders gathered on January 16th, 2002 at the Louisiana Board of Regents in Baton Rouge for their first meeting. Minutes of this 'Kickoff' Meeting are available on this website.

The TAC and project leaders gathered on January 30th, 2003 at Tulane University in New Orleans for their second meeting. Minutes of this second meeting are available on this website.
